Thelonious is here! WordPress 3.0 Will you upgrade now or wait?

For all the WordPress lovers out there Thelonious (WordPress 3.0) is here. Will you upgrade now or wait?

I being the WordPress Geek that I am of course attempted to upgrade right away but was faced with “Fatal error: Allowed memory size exhausted” errors when I tried to upgrade. To take care of the problem I downloaded the plugin “memory bump” and it took care of the issue and I was able to upgrade successfully with no further issues. Before upgrading of course you should always backup your files in case you run into a problem and need to do a restore.

With WordPress 3.0 there is a new default theme named “Twenty Ten”. Developers now have new APIs that allow them to easily implement custom backgrounds, headers, shortlinks, menues, post types, and taxonomies. The new Twenty Ten theme shows all these feature’s off.

Another great new feature is that you can now bulk update 15 plugins all at once with one click. No more individual upgrades.
